Kouzan Japanese Restaurant serves some of the freshest and most delicious Japanese fare on the Upper West Side. Both the manner in which the dishes are prepared and the atmosphere of the restaurant are beautiful and welcoming. If the hip vibe and waterfall aren’t enough of a draw, then try the food! The sushi and bento boxes are mouthwateringly scrumptious and the tempura is perfectly fried. If you’ve tried Yuki Sushi (another SeamlessWeb restaurant, which happens to be right across the street) and love it, you should definitely check out their upscale spinoff, Kouzan, for food that is tasty, an atmosphere that is upscale, and prices that are shockingly reasonable.

Their lunch special bento box is one of the best deals in the neighborhood. Tasty, fast, and an extremely generous portion. Only complaint is that the soup comes in a plastic container. I wish they changed that and then I would order from them every day.

Normally I love Kouzan, but tonight my food was terrible. The fish was old, one piece even had a SCALE (seriously?!?!?) and even the wasabi was old. Horrible experience.

First and last time at this restaurant. The salmon sushi were awful. The salmon had almost a puree texture, with no resistance at all, and was absolutely tasteless. We trashed the whole thing. Never again.

The food I have ordered has always been excellent! The shrimp tempura is delightfully crispy, even as take out, and the dumplings are superb! I place frequent orders with this restaurant because it is consistently good and the orders arrive quickly!

My #1 go to place for lunch, rain or shine. The bento lunch boxes, especially the Beef Negimaki is delicious and a relative bargain. Everything arrives hot and quickly.

Kouzan is our favorite of the sushi delivery options in the neighborhood. We especially like their dragon roll and miso eggplant, and their speedy delivery times!

The staff at Kouzan are extremely friendly and helpful, so I now pick-up my meals from there instead of opting for delivery. What can I say? Have NEVER gone wrong with the sashimi lunch special, always of the utmost quality. I often select the Katsu Don or Negimaki and they are consistently excellent. Thank you Kouzan - hands down the best Japanese in the area!

Great Udon Soups. The tempura was excellent. Delivery was fast and there were individually cut pieces of card board between each level of the food in the bag. I've never seen better organized delivery food.

We ordered Sushi Deluxe, Tuna Tartare,and the Jugar roll. The fish was very "fishy" smelling - not at all fresh, and tasted bad. We just hope we don't get sick from it. Overall, terrible - find another spot!

I've ordered here a number of times and found it always to be pretty good. It's not the best Japanese sushi but for the price and quality I think this place is great. I'm always satisfied with their food and service. Haven't had an issue. This is one of my go to Japanese take out places.

katsu over rice was fine, though expensive.maki was not very good, fish was passable only, and clumsily assembled. delivery was quick. momoya is a better option

The Chirashi is really horrible. Supposedly "10 pieces of sashimi", but that includes two tiny pieces of octopus and a frozen shrimp. And all the pieces were tiny--about the size of a pink pencil eraser. Very disappointed.

Very good although a bit expensive for Japanese. The Bento Boxes are excellent and the Miso Soup is a perfect combination of flavors. The sushi is fresh and savory. Steer clear of the fried calamari as it is not a good delivery option, arrives overcooked and soggy. Try Kouzan it may become one of your favorites.
